A Soul Seeking…GRACE & LOVE

One thing I learned about journeying with God through Christian discipleship is that the experience requires a “rotational viewpoint.”

WHAT?!… What is a “rotational viewpoint?”

It is the process of perpetually shifting your view in various directions in order to keep growing and moving.

There are moments when we need to look at the Presence of God in our present circumstances.

There are moments when we need to look back to acknowledge our God-given grace and avoid the pitfalls of the past.

There are moments when we need to look ahead in order to align our life trajectory with God’s plan for our future.

A “rotational viewpoint” positions us to stay closely connected with the heart and voice of God to know whereto look, and when to look… so we don’t end up distracted or disoriented.

My time of “Soul Seeking” throughout this blog has sharpen my rotational viewpoint and created an avenue for my growth.

When I started this blog development process I was INTIMIDATED by the process… the technical aspects (layouts, graphics and edits… oh my!) and the apprehension of sharing my thoughts with the “virtual world.”

In looking back to my first blog post on “A Soul Seeking” I remember sharing this sentiment,…

“We have a responsibility to participate in our experience with God’s grace, as God assumes His responsibility to extend His grace. My response to gaining an understanding of “responsible grace” is to dive head-first into this experience, wading through the waters of uncertainty, floating in the security of my salvation, and swimming with the current of His Spirit as He calls me into the deep knowledge of His transformative grace.”

In reflection, over the last eight weeks, I had dived, waded, floated and swam through the eternal waters of God’s love led by the theological insights of John Wesley and those who studied his writings.

The overall sentiment that I gleaned from my journey with Wesley through the redemptive and restorative waters of salvation is that the path is grace, the destination is holiness, and the living water that carries us is LOVE.

The LOVE of the Triune God draws us to dip are feet in the waters of salvation through prevenient grace. Then we are baptized in the waters of His love- cleansed and healed from sin- and birthed anew by justifying grace. We then wade in the waters of His love into the deep where God teaches us to swim through His sanctifying grace. The culmination of our journey of salvation is when we learn to walk on the waters of His love in Christian perfection or entire sanctification where there is true happiness in our restored holiness.

The waters of God’s love is intended not only to carry us to Christian perfection, but to also  draw other to these same justifying and sanctifying waters. As we are washed in His love, justified by His love, and transformed through His love- we participate in reflecting His love to the world around us.

Let LOVE save you, and let this same love lead others to His SAVING GRACE.

Come jump into the WATER of God’s LOVE…with me!
